Places…

I will never forget the trip to Rawa Island…. It started almost at midnight in Kuala Lumpur, by bus across Malaysia to Mersing. I couldn’t sleep on the bus and the stop at 3am was even making it better… Then, arrival in Mersing at 6am. So, we spent 3 hours until the office of Rawa Safari Tours opens. Finally, the office opened and we got our transfer from Mersing to Rawa Island. Back to the harbour, where we had to wait for the boat. The boat arrived at 10.30am and about 20min later, we reached the island. But due to the rain, the island didn’t really appear like a tropical paradise. After the check-in we got our beachfront bungalow. The rest of the afternoon, I spent with sleeping. When I woke up again, dusk was falling already and I didn’t see much of the beauty of the island. We went to the restaurant for dinner. Later, I took some nightshots from the jetty and went to bed again :-)

When I woke up the next morning, I opened the curtains and I couldn’t believe my eyes. We really arrived in a tropical paradise. After breakfast, I couldn’t wait to take some more pics and after lunch I did my first snorkeling.

Vacation

Vacation…. Always a good opportunity to take some nice pictures. Especially, when you have the luck to travel with guide who is a good photographer, too. And although I know that I will never be a serious competitor to Jessy, I was lucky to learn from her. This shot was taken at Echo Beach, Bali, Indonesia. Hanging out at the Cafe Sol (now it has a different name, I think it is Cafe Europa or so), we were waiting for the sunset.

Castle Nymphenburg

Castle Nymphenburg is located in Munich and it is the only castle in Bavaria in which you are allowed to take pictures without flash. Unfortunately, I lost my tripod on my last trip to Indonesia, so I had to improvise a bit. I put my camera on the floor and fired with the IR remote trigger. It took some shots to figure out how far I had to stay from the camera if I didn’t want to be in the picture…

Schwäbisch Hall

A sunday trip to Schwäbisch Hall and the city presented itself from its most beautiful side… The picture shows just a small part of the medieval city center from the Unterwöhrd.

A new start

Nothing is as steady as the change… I don’t know who said this the first time but it’s true. And after several years of keeping my website outdated, I thought it’s time for a new start.
